DNC strategy vs. DSCC
This is an interesting read: Vox Verax reposts an excerpt from an article entitled " Dean's 50-state strategy vs. Emanuel and Schumer"
I hope there is an element in the DNC speaking up for real grassroots capacity building vs. external groups showing up on scene with GOTV efforts tageting important demographic groups in the last minutes of a targeted campaign. Those demographics/constituencies usually are democratic because they have a sense that the Democrats are more likely to serve their needs vs. the GOP. This is an opportunity to do that. They need to be delivered the training and tools to advocate for their own policy and to insist on their fair share of federal pork, not made more dependent on distant and uninformed policy makers in Washington. Those constituencies need to be invited into the DFL/national democratic party and encouraged to recruit and advance their own candidates, too. If Dean and the DNC are really in favor of that kind of early investment, I support them.
But Schumer is clearly an enemy. So in the spirit of the ancient logic of war, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend", I'll link today to this GOP attack piece NoAgenda.org - Chuck Schumer Archives with this bit of reframing as a caveat - The title of this site is No Agenda, but the problem with these Democrats from the NoAgenda.org perspective is that they have in fact the same agenda, and the GOP wants all of the lobbying money and free press from groups like Rupert Murdoch and Fox News' News Corp.
Schumer and Frist have the same crippling affliction and are bent on transmitting it in both parties Neocon plutocracy, and obedience to the direction of the same set of corporate elites. The only lasting protection against that is early investment in real grassroots capacity.
