Progressive democrats in action: New York and Ohio

I am a little nervous for Dennis Kucinich in Ohio, where there is a primary today. He has been subject to some harsh criticism in the Cleveland press based on his run for president in 2004. He was just on Randi Rhodes and sounded great. I am sure that he will come out on top in his district, and we will see what the results are elsewhere in Ohio in the morning.

In New York, why not support Tasini? It is clear that Hillary won't be putting all of her attention and energies on being a U.S. Senator and serving the needs of her state, she's expected to run for the presidency in 2008.

More about this and other progressive races in other states tomorrow.

Update: Scandal surrounds Ohio primary election - However Blackwell (who also presided over the last Ohio election scandal) appears to be winning in the Republican gubenatorial race, according to results released against his orders. Another article mentions glitches with voting machines as well as other irregularities.

Faggoty-Ass Faggot has one of the first Ohio-blog posts with specific results, and venom towards an anti-gay Democrat running for State Representative in a Cleveland district. The GLBT community is a key Democratic constituency (especially in urban areas) because they vote, even in primaries.

Ohio election results will be available here: Election Night - Ohio Secretary of State
