Global Nuclear Energy Partnership - kill it ASAP

Samuel Bodman is on CSPAN-2, and I just heard him mention the hideous project to supply (and then reprocess) nuclear fuels to India, possibly Indonesia and Iran. It is called Global Nuclear Energy Partnership. Bodman's assertion that we will need more nuclear power is incorrect. We need conservation, we need distributed power generation, and we need to provide new sustainable energy sources to the developing world.

Nuclear power is horribly inefficient, tied to nuclear arms development, and has been heavily subsidized by U.S. taxpayers.

We need renewables, and we need to do appropriate technology transfer and R&D on renewables in India and Indonesia, not more nuclear power. Biodiesel from rubberseed oil is a start.
