Call your Senators Now! - Another addition to the Out of Iraq blogroll

Please call or contact via e-mail or web form both of your U.S. Senators and tell them that you do not support continuing to fund this war indefinately. I recommend a No! vote on S. 965, the emergency supplemental funding measure to continue the Iraq war.

If you are not there yet, on immediately defunding this war, the tell them your degree of support, that it is conditional on funding an immediate, orderly withdrawal along the lines of the Barbara Lee amendment, or that you support the funding only if the Murtha language is in the Senate bill, as a guarantee that it will also pass the conference committee intact.

Do this now, the vote will come soon. It is important that the Senate know where their constituents are, regardless of whether you predict it might influence their vote. Let them know if it will effect your vote, if they are up for re-election in 2008. I think voting for funding this war without restriction should be a good excuse for a primary challenge in either party.

Here is the contact information for U.S. Senators

Not funding further war, preventing action against Iran without explicit Congressional authorization, these are the things the Dems won a majority to deliver on. If they can't, it doesn't build confidence for the party for either Presidential prospects or relection of the party's incumbents. As a Democrat, this worries me. However, I am encouraged there are opponents of continuing this war in both major parties. It is worth contacting your Senators regardless of their party affiliation, and let them know how you really feel, and what you really want them to do on your behalf.

Nice post, Impeccable!

Let them know if it will effect your vote, if they are up for re-election in 2008 - or if they are even thinking about being up for re-election...

Maybe this will help them focus? It can happen to them just a easily. Come to think of it - it's happening to them now.
