Another big Sumatran earthquake

There has been another big earthquake of the coast of Sumatra, provisionally a 7.9 on the Richter scale, shallow, with the potential to have generated a tsunami.

If there has been one, and there is going to be a serious U.S. relief mission, I am available. I have spent time in that part of Sumatra before (Bengkulu) and done relief work (medical entomology, agroforestry, translation/interpretation and UN/NGO/Government of Indonesia coordination) in Aceh after that earthquake and tsunami in 2004. I speak Indonesian well enough, and know how to stay alive and not be a burden in that environment in the midst of a disaster.

I would need help getting a new passport expedited.
